The Making of Joaquin Pablo

January 10, 2011
2:30 am, sa Muntinglupa...

B: Arnel, nag d drip yung water
A: Ha?!

Dra: Go to the Delivery Room now.

---
I really have a great God.
"Oops, my waterbag broke."

Buti nalang, madaling araw nangyari to.
Walang traffic.

4:00 am   We reached Makati Med

(trying our best to handle the situation,
para walang taranta, walang pressure, walang away.
presence of mind kaya picture muna.)

 (subalit, datapwat, bagamat...
"Bea, naiwan ko wallet ko sa koche."
sus ginoo...buti nalang mahal kita...at buti nalang may kasabay tayong manganganak,

Another round of IE, this time with that mutha fuckin speculum that hurt like bitch.

We had 2 conditions before conceiving:
1. He will help my in the middle of the night to take care of the baby.
2. He will be there with me all throughout the pregnancy.
And so we got the Birthing Room.

We prepared long enough for this moment. We even took up courses on Natural Birth.
Our eyes dropped the same way our pockets did when we opened the door to our room...
Tadaaaa!!! Sobrang laki ng room!
Pag La Masse nga pala, they make you feel as comfortable as possible.
Para mag open up ang uterus mo even without any medication.

The reason for natural birth is the needle.
I hate needles!!!
It's actually my 1st time to get an IV.

9:00 am still 2cm, Pablo is still floating...no contractions at all.

Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to walk around
because my water bag is already ruptured.

Thank God I had Ate Bulate & Arnel with me in the birthing room.

12:00 nn: 3cm...Pablo still floating. They started inducing labor...
I was so amazed with this.
The nurses calls it three way stop cock, it looks like an angle valve to me.

5:00 pm   Pain was still tolerable.
tor·ture (tôrchr) n.

: lemon flavor cotton buds for dinner!!!

me at 4 cm...

9:00 pm   The queen bitch of pain met with me. I gave up. No more natural birth for me.

After casting the magic spell, everything went back to normal.

10:00 pm   After another IE, negative three. Pablo was still floating, my beautiful OB drained the rest of the amniotic fluid and we waited for a miracle..that my uterus would open up from 5 cm to 10 cm in 2 hours.

11:45 pm   After 20 hours & 3 decades of rosary, Walang Himala!!! My beautiful OB announced the bad news:

"Be ready for a CS."

I cried and said sorry to Arnel.

12:40 pm   Our little prinsipe has arrived. We are now officially a family.
